1. Regional Director – Eastern Region

  • Station: Mutare Museum, Mutare
  • Summary: A senior leadership role responsible for the overall coordination, management, and strategic direction of the Eastern Region.
  • Key Requirements:
    • Master’s Degree in Human/Natural Sciences or Museum Studies.
    • Postgraduate qualification in Administration/Management/Leadership.
    • At least 5 years of managerial experience.
    • Knowledge of Public Entities Corporate Governance Act and Results Based Management System.

2. Risk and Security Manager – Head Office

  • Station:  Head Office, Harare
  • Summary: A senior role to lead the Risk Management and Security Unit, advising management and the Board on risk, compliance, and security.
  • Key Requirements:
    • Degree in Security Services or equivalent.
    • At least 5 years’ experience at ZRP Superintendent level or equivalent with 3 years at senior officer level.
    • Clean class four driver’s licence.
    • Sound investigative and analytical skills.

3. Director – Research and Development

  • Station: Head Office, Harare
  • Summary: A top-tier role providing strategic leadership for all research, conservation, and heritage management activities.
  • Key Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Archaeology, History, Heritage Studies, or related field (PhD an advantage).
    • At least 10 years’ experience, with 5 at a senior management level.
    • Proven record of published research.
    • Strong understanding of heritage legislation and international conventions.

4. Assistant Curator of Militaria

  • Station: Zimbabwe Military Museum, Gweru
  • Summary: A mid-level role focused on curating, researching, and exhibiting militaria collections.
  • Key Requirements:
    • B.A. Honors degree in History.
    • Diploma in Museology is an added advantage.
    • Valid driver’s license.

5. Assistant Curator of Archaeology

  • Station: Zimbabwe Military Museum, Gweru
  • Summary: A research-focused role involving fieldwork, excavations, data analysis, and publication of archaeological findings.
  • Key Requirements:
    • B.A. Honors degree in Archaeology.
    • Two years of research experience.
    • At least two publications.
    • A clean class four driver’s license.

6. Exhibitions Designer

  • Station: Zimbabwe Museum of Human Sciences, Harare
  • Summary: A creative and technical role responsible for designing, mounting, and maintaining museum exhibitions.
  • Key Requirements:
    • A degree in Art and Design.
    • At least five years of experience in a related design position.
    • Ability to convert ideas into visual presentations.
    • An appreciation of Museology operations.
